BERLIN – how it all began…
Dr. August Schreiber, inventor and entrepreneur, laid the foundations for the SCHREIBER family of companies.
I can, because I want to, what I have to.
Dr. August Schreiber studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. During his studies, he worked as a technical draughtsman for small sewage treatment plants for detached houses.
He soon discovered how small design changes could improve the purification effect.
Shortly afterwards, he registered his first patent and set up his own company, Allgemeine-Abwasser-Anlagen.
This was the beginning of a new era for biological wastewater treatment plants with a large number of far-reaching and ecologically important patents for environmental protection, which ensure clean water in over 20 countries with SCHREIBER expertise.
My grandfather overcame two world wars, the world economic crisis and many other challenging life situations and possessed an extraordinary willpower to continuously and successfully realise his new ideas and visions. Positive thinking is the foundation of our self-determined entrepreneurial family. He was also very close to nature and a passionate hunter. As an exemplary role model, his personality had a positive influence on subsequent generations and will be remembered forever.
